How to post on Jinu: A complete guide

Everything you need to list an item on Jinu, start to finish: photos, AI-written details, categories, delivery, location privacy, pricing, and managing your listing after it goes live.

Posting on jinu.app takes about a minute, and listing an item costs nothing. This guide walks the whole thing end to end: opening the composer, adding photos, letting our AI write the details or writing them yourself, picking a category and condition, telling buyers how to get the item, setting your location, pricing it right, and managing the listing after it goes live. If you have a phone and a thing to sell, you already have everything you need.

The five moves, start to finish. You can do all of them from your phone.

Getting started

1. Open Post: Quick Post AI or do it by hand

Tap the blue Post button. It sits in the top bar on the web and in the tab bar on the app, so it is never more than one tap away. You will be asked to sign in first if you have not already. Browsing Jinu is account free, but posting and messaging need a free account so the marketplace stays spam free.

Once you are in, you have two ways to build a listing:

  1. Quick Post AI (the fast lane)

Add a photo and let Jinu do the writing. Our AI looks at your picture, figures out what it is, and drafts a title, a description, and a suggested price. You review, tweak, and publish. This is the fastest way to post, and it is what we recommend for most everyday items.
  2. Manual post (full control)

Prefer to write every field yourself? Choose the manual composer and fill in the title, description, price, and details by hand. Same listing, same reach, you just do the typing.

The Post tab. Start with Quick Post AI, or pick a category to fill it in yourself.

Not sure which to pick? Start with Quick Post AI. Even if you plan to rewrite everything, the AI draft gives you a solid first version to edit instead of a blank page.

Photos

2. Add photos, and what makes a good one

Photos do most of the selling. A listing with clear, honest pictures gets more messages and sells faster, full stop. You can add several photos per listing, and the first one becomes your cover, so make it your best shot.

Tap to add photos from your camera roll, or shoot new ones on the spot. Drag to reorder them once they are in. Four simple habits cover almost everything:

Good lightShoot near a windowin daylight.Fill the frameGet close so theitem is the star.Clean backdropA plain wall orfloor, no clutter.Every angleFront, back, label, andany flaws.
You do not need a nice camera. You need light, a clean background, and a few honest angles.

The New listing composer. Photos sit right at the top, above the category, title, and price.

Show the flaws too. If there is a scratch, a stain, or a missing piece, photograph it. Buyers trust a listing that is upfront, and it saves you a wasted meetup when someone shows up and changes their mind.

Title, description, price

3. Let AI write it, or fill it in yourself

With Quick Post AI, this step is mostly reviewing. After your photo uploads, Jinu drafts three things:

  1. A title

Short and searchable, the way a buyer would actually search for it. Think brand, model, and what it is, like “IKEA Malm 6-drawer dresser, white.”
  2. A description

A few honest lines about the item, its condition, and anything a buyer should know. Edit freely. Add the size, the age, why you are selling, or the reason it is a great deal.
  3. A suggested price

A starting number based on what the item looks like. Treat it as a starting point, not gospel. You know your item and your area better than any model does.

Writing it yourself instead? The same three fields are there, empty and waiting. Keep the title specific, keep the description honest, and you are done.

Read the AI draft before you publish. The AI is good, not psychic. It cannot know that the dresser is missing a knob or that you are firm on price. Give the draft a ten-second read and add anything it could not see.

Details

4. Pick a category and condition

The category is how buyers find you when they filter, so choose the one that fits best: electronics, furniture, vehicles, clothing, and so on. Quick Post AI usually guesses this for you from the photo, but you can change it with a tap.

Condition tells buyers what to expect before they message. Jinu keeps it simple: new, like new, good, fair. Be honest here. It sets expectations and heads off awkward “this is not what I thought” moments at the meetup.

Details that matter

5. Fill in category-specific fields

Some categories ask for a few extra details because buyers expect them. Filling these in is worth it: listings with the specifics get taken more seriously and show up in the right filters.

Vehicles

Add the make, model, year, and mileage. If you have them, the trim and title status help too. Buyers filter cars by all of these, so a blank field can mean your listing never even shows up in their search.

Housing and rentals

Add the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, the monthly rent, and whether it is a rental or a sale. A move-in date and whether utilities are included answer the two questions every renter asks first.

Jobs

Add the pay range, the job type (full time, part time, gig), and where the work happens. Clear pay up front gets you far more real applicants than “pay depends on experience.”

Post a vehicle and the composer asks for make, model, year, and mileage. Buyers filter on all of them.

Only what fits shows up. You will only ever see the fields that match your category. Sell a couch and you will not be asked for mileage. Post a car and you will not be asked for bedrooms.

How buyers get it

6. Tell buyers how they get it

Next, say how the item changes hands. You can pick more than one, and offering a couple of options widens your pool of buyers.

PickupThey come to you. Simple and free.MeetupTrade in a safe public spot nearby.DeliveryYou drop it off or ship it out.
Pick any combination. More options means more people who can say yes.
  1. Pickup

The buyer comes to you. It is the simplest option and costs nobody anything. Good for big or heavy items you would rather not move.
  2. Meetup

You meet somewhere public and central. Great for smaller items and for anyone who would rather not share a home address. Pick a busy, well-lit spot.
  3. Delivery

You drop it off locally or ship it. Note if there is a delivery fee or a distance you will go, so there are no surprises later.

Location and privacy

7. Set your location (and keep your address private)

Set the area your item is in so it shows up for nearby buyers and in local searches. Here is the important part: Jinu shows buyers an approximate neighborhood, not your exact address. Your precise spot stays private until you decide to share it with a specific buyer to arrange a handoff.

Buyers seea general area, about a mile wideYour exact spotstays private until you share it
Your listing pins a general area about a mile across. Where you actually live stays yours.

Share your address only when you are ready. You are never required to post your home address. Keep the conversation in Jinu's inbox, agree on a public meetup or a time for pickup, and share exact details only when you have decided to go ahead.

Pricing

8. Price it to actually sell

Pricing is where good listings stall or fly. A few honest rules go a long way:

  1. Check what similar items go for

Search Jinu for the same thing in your area. If comparable items sit around a number, that is your market, not the price you paid new.
  2. Leave a little room to negotiate

Many local buyers will offer below asking. Price a touch above your true floor so you can say yes to a fair offer and still be happy.
  3. Round, do not overthink

$40 sells faster than $37. Clean numbers read as fair and get more taps.
  4. Free moves fast

If you just want it gone, list it as free. Jinu supports $0 listings, and they find a new home quickly.
The Jinu Browse feed showing local listings with prices, the fastest way to check comparable items.
Before you price, search Browse for the same thing nearby. What comparable items ask is your real market.

Price a bit high, not way high. Overpricing is the number one reason a listing goes quiet. If a week goes by with no bites, drop the price. Jinu even highlights price drops to interested buyers, so a small cut can bring your listing right back to the top of their feed.

Go live

9. Review and publish

Give the whole thing one last look: cover photo, title, price, category, condition, how buyers get it, and location. When it looks right, hit Publish. Your listing goes live to nearby buyers immediately, and Jinu automatically checks every new listing for scams and prohibited items before it appears.

That is it. You are a seller. Buyers can now find your item and message you through Jinu's private inbox, so your email and phone number stay yours.

After you post

10. Editing and managing after it is live

A listing is not set in stone. Open My listings any time to manage it. From there you can:

  1. Edit anything

Fix a typo, add a photo, or update the description. Changes go live right away.
  2. Drop the price

Lower the price in a tap. Buyers who liked your item get nudged about the drop, so it is one of the best ways to restart a quiet listing.
  3. Mark it reserved or sold

Reserve it while you finish a deal, then mark it sold when the item is gone. Sold items stop showing in buyer feeds, so nobody messages you about something that is already spoken for.
  4. Save a draft and finish later

Not ready to publish? Save it as a draft and pick it right back up from My listings when you have a minute.
The Jinu Account screen with My listings, Analytics, offers, and a Post a listing button.
Your Account screen is home base: My listings, Analytics, offers, and saved searches all live here.

Keep your listing fresh. If an item has been up a while, a fresh cover photo or a small price drop often does more than reposting from scratch. Managing beats restarting.

Your turn

Ready to post?

You now know the whole flow: open Post, add honest photos, let AI write it or write it yourself, set the category and details, choose how buyers get it, keep your location private, price it fairly, and publish. Every part is free, and the first listing is always the slowest. After that, you will be posting in under a minute.
